Gurram Jashuva Gabbilam is a Yiddish term that can be translated to mean "Gracious God, how good". This is the bestselling book, written by the late Abraham Joshua Heschel, which explores the idea of goodness. The book teaches that it's not just doing good deeds that gets you into heaven, but also your inner spirit. It doesn't require excitement or doing anything extreme - you just have to live an ethical life. He has come out with 17 editions of this book so far and his words are still true for everyone to read and learn from today.
"Evernote" is a popular notebook-taking application for smartphones and other mobile devices. It allows users to store, access, and share lists of notes, lists of files to attach to the notes, typed text, images and other media. Synaptic Labs is a company that develops Evernote. It was founded in 2008 in San Francisco by David Sternberg and Phil Libin. David Sternberg was previously founder of moo.com (acquired by eBay in 2005). Libin was previously founder of Delicious (acquired by Yahoo in 2005). "Yahoo" is a web portal, media company and webmail service, which was founded in 1995 by David Filo and Jerry Yang. Yahoo has to their credit an IPO success story, having been the first internet company to go public when they were organized as a stock corporation. Sternberg and Libin wanted to create a platform for people to share all kinds of lists and notes, which they envisioned as a mobile device based email application called "Zappos". After successfully launching YQ. com, they then decided to change the name of the application, and called it Evernote from the Greek "euno" for "everything". In 2008, Yahoo acquired Evernote in a $75 million deal. The company was headquartered in San Francisco until January 2011 when Yahoo transferred it to Yahoo Mountain View and subsequently rebranded it as Yahoo Tech. Zappos is a store that sells shoes online. Zappos was founded in 1999 by CEO Tony Hsieh and his brother Jeff Hsieh, who bought an abandoned shoe store in Las Vegas called T-Shirts and Suits and turned it into a thriving business. The word Zappos is a play on the Spanish "zapatos", which means shoes. Yahoo, through Zappos, acquired Evernote in the same year that they acquired moo.com. The acquisition was announced in July 2008 and completed in October 2008 for a reported over $200 million over cash and stock. Evernote's David O'Brien gained a seat on Yahoo's board of directors as one of the terms for the acquisition of Evernote by Yahoo.
